The Postal History Foundation hosts What I Love About Tucson and Postmark, San Diego, a joint show with artists from two cities showcasing their local venues through unique bindings, books and structures, featuring more than 100 handmade postcards. Desert flora and fauna, mountains and sunsets combine with shore birds and graceful bridges, flower fields and seashells that natives of the two cities or destination travelers will enjoy. The traveling show is tentatively scheduled to pick up a third city’s artistic component when staged in Santa Fe next year.
The exhibit runs Nov. 4, 2019 through Feb. 28, 2020, and is open to the public weekdays at no charge, from 9AM to 3PM at the Postal History Foundation Slusser Library, 920 N 1st Ave., Tucson, Ariz. 85719. Limited free parking is available behind the PHF buildings during hours of operation.
Participating artists are members of the Sonoran collective PaperWorks and San Diego Book Arts, both groups that focus on paper and book arts.
