Lesson and topical services

Enriching student learning through postage stamps

A message from Lisa Dembowski, Director of Education

If you have already set up an account, please scroll down below to the store.

Please note: if shipping to any place other than the US (or APO)Puerto Rico, or Canada, email me with your requests.

If you have never used our ordering system, please read the information below before proceeding to the Lesson and Topical store.

Follow the Rules as listed below. One address, one email, one order per month. Unfortunately some parents have been trying to cheat the system this past month. This causes a lot of extra work and prevents others from ordering. Stop, or we will have to ban you from the store.

  1. Lessons and stamps are provided free of charge for educational use only to students, teachers, parents, and other educators. Teachers, parents and other educators may make copies of lessons for educational use only. Most every lesson comes with packets of stamps for each child or student. Every order is sent a confirmation email. If you order a Power Point, you can download it from your check-out cart. It will also be attached to your order confirmation email. We will sometimes send an email with a question about your order. We need you to respond to such emails.
  2. You are allowed to choose a total of four topicals and four lessons per month. You may order less. One order per month per classroom or one order per month per home school family or group. One email address and one mailing address per family. Do not use multiple emails or addresses. When choosing the number of lessons you need, do not write in the name of your child, write the number.
  3. It is illegal to sell stamps, Power Points, and lessons that the Postal History Foundation has provided for educational purposes. Changes to lessons are illegal.
  4. The Postal History Foundation is a non-profit organization and the Stamp Discovery program is the educational arm of the PHF. We depend on monetary and philatelic donations to support our Stamp Discovery program. The Stamp Discovery program is separate from the PHF Sales Department which sells philatelic supplies, stamps, covers, albums, and other items to adult collectors.
  5. Large international orders will be charged for shipping. Regular domestic lesson and topical orders are not charged shipping. Stamps Kits are$20(includes domestic shipping)
  6. You must register (make an account) when checking out with you name, address, school name. The word company means school, group, etc. We do not give out any information. Home School parents, please write Home School in the company name box or the name of your homeschool group.
  7. TEACHERS please use the school address for shipping if you are working for a school or your package might be returned by the USPS. Do not use your home address unless that is the absolute best way for you to receive the mail. Write a note in the order form to advise us of this. For our records, we need to know the name of the school, museum, or group. We do not give out any information.
  8. Home school parents – Only a certain amount of orders will be allowed per day, which we will adjust throughout the year, to prevent too many orders for us to process. If we have reached a limit of orders on the day you try to order, try again the next day.
  9. Classroom teachers may email me if they need a specific lesson for a specific month or date as they have specific schedules they must follow.
  10. The amount of stamps we provide fluctuates with the amount of stamps that are available. Donations and requests also affect the amount we provide. Therefore, some topics may not be available in the store at different times throughout the year.
  11. Disregard the word quantity, it means that you ordered that one topic or lesson.
  12. After selecting an item and imputing the amount of students, you will push the button ADD to CART and a check mark will appear on that button. Next, go to the tabs above or below to pick another item. When you are finished and are looking at your cart, a warning sign may appear telling you that you have maxed out your lesson or topical choices. It will not let you check out until you delete the extra items. It is up to you what you delete.

Children can write us letters or a postcard requesting topical stamps.

Mail them to: Stamp Discovery, 920 North 1st Ave., Tucson, AZ 85719. In the letter, the child must list five topics that he or she is interested in. Parents, grandparents, and other educators may also order stamp collecting starter kits by calling 520-623-6652 x 102.

Thank you for your patience as we will be adjusting the store throughout the year until we have a system that works for you and us.

Thank you for enriching student learning through the use of postage stamps!
